When the day finally came for us to leave, both Vince and Amy were in high spirits!
Combine this with being pre-packed and our departure experience was easy and uneventful. Hoo-wee!
As usual, our first stop was the lonely little rest stop on State Road 6. (The same one from our Moab Trip.)
Vince was jazzed to see the stream full and flowing. I tried explaining how it was all meltwater from the Winter, but I think he was just happy to throw rocks...
...and play with Grandpa.
Six short hours later (yeah, the trip went by pretty quickly), we arrived in Glenwood and checked into the Hot Springs Lodge.
Unfortunately, Vince got a huge view of the pool on the way in...
...so he was bouncing off the wall to get unpacked and out to the wet stuff. When the time came for us to go, we were in such a rush that I forgot the camera. (D'oh!)
After a couple of hours of swimming (just getting warmed up), we met up with Great Grandma Beatrice and Great Aunt Anne and went out for some Italian.
Sadly, we had a bit of a wait, so Vince, Grandpa and I trundled down to the riverside to take in the view.
Little did Vince know that he'd be treated to an up-front view of a freight train!
He got a huuuuge kick out of that.
He's such a railhead.
Finally our number came up and we were treated to some of the best Italian food around. The place is called the Italian Underground and it has some of the best cannoli I've ever eaten.
But why is Vince bummed out? That's easy. He wanted to go swimming...again.
How could I say no? We were out until 10 pm! ;-)
Ok, blog fans! More to come tomorrow, including Amy's first dip in the pool!
